VPS HOSTING FOR NEXTCLOUD

Nextcloud is an open-source platform for storing and sharing files, collaborating on documents, and managing tools such as calendars, contacts, email, and chat. You can use it as a personal cloud or as a workspace for your team.

With Ergonet's Origin® VPS, you can install Nextcloud with a single click and choose your own custom domain name—even if it's hosted externally. Once complete, the application will be ready for your first login, and you can start setting up users, uploading files, and organizing your private cloud environment.

It depends on the storage space required for files, the number of concurrent users, and the features used. A personal account has different needs than a corporate team that edits documents and uses video calls.

We recommend the VPS 1 plan if you're starting from scratch. You can upgrade to a higher-tier plan when you need more storage space or more resources.

The disk space on the VPS server includes approximately 5 GB used by the operating system files and the application installation and management service (Docker Manager).

The Nextcloud installation is automated, but the VPS server is self-managed and provides root access. System administration skills are required to manage the server, update applications, and make configuration changes, but you have the option to connect the VPS server to an AI service such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini to simplify system administration. Day-to-day use of Nextcloud, on the other hand, is handled through a simple web interface and dedicated apps.

Yes. You can log in via a browser and use the Nextcloud clients for computers and mobile devices. If you choose private access, these devices will also need to connect via VPN.

Yes, you can create sharing links and set passwords, security settings, and permissions even for people who don't have an active account.

The Nextcloud Mail app lets you connect and use existing email accounts, but the VPS server does not automatically manage those accounts. No need to worry—at Ergonet, you’ll find shared hosting and email services that you can easily integrate with your Origin® VPS and Nextcloud.

VPS Origin® includes weekly backups—retained for 14 days and performed every Sunday—of your entire VPS server (snapshot) and, consequently, of all the applications it contains. If you need more frequent backups, you can also add daily backups starting at just a few euros per month.

Backups are geographically distributed in a different data center from the one that hosts the VPS service. We host all our services exclusively in Italian Tier 4 data centers, the highest certification level currently available for a data center.

Of course! Origin® VPS servers are designed to host all the applications you need for your home or office. You'll have access to a catalog with over a thousand applications to choose from and install with a single click.

Every component of the VPS server (NVMe SSD drives and RAM) is redundant to prevent service disruptions. In the event of a major hardware failure affecting any of these components, replacement is guaranteed within 2 hours, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
